Produce and distribute Flyers (check flyers section for help) Visit supermarkets, local shops, pet shops and takeaways put flyers on streetlamps and at bus stops and train stations. Contact Local Papers Ask local publications to put an advert in their lost and found section, a lot of organizations will do this for free, if they want to charge you try to appeal to their sense of compassion!! it may work. When searching and distributing flyers don't travel alone, take a friend or family member with you. Knock on every door in your immediate area and give the house owner a flyer and describe your cat. Try to get them to look in their outbuildings straight away then so you can eliminate that particular area from your search. Also keep a lookout for cat found flyers as well, but always take someone with you if visiting a strange house. Never
discuss financial rewards until you have your cat back, if someone asks
you how much you are offering, just say something like "This cat is
worth much more than money to me and any reward would reflect that"
If someone is greedy enough to ask then leave them with their imagination,
you never know it might motivate them. We had a phone call on day 4 from a man 3 streets away to say that our cat has been found and had been going in and out of his cats cat flap for the past 3 days and eating their food. He had not seen any of our flyers because we only put one at each end of his road due to it being 3 streets away. But as a cat owner he realized this was not normal behaviour and trapped him. I leave you to determine where your flyer boundaries should be, mine will be at least 3 streets if this ever happens again. We got our cat back because he had a collar tag. If his collar or tag was missing and he ended up at a local vet or charity organization his microchip would hopefully have returned him to us. If you have your cat, do it NOW, not tomorrow, you have been warned !!
