Local Search

Search around your house, look in cupboards especially ones that allow access under the floor, loft apex's, washing machines, under beds, on the roof in drainpipes, space between houses, under and in your garden shed and basically any space that you think your cat could fit in.

Cats can be fatally attracted to vertical spaces such as drainpipes and wall cavities so listen carefully at any potential entry point and call your cats name, if you find your cat and can't reach it call the fire brigade and they will be able to help.

Look outside again after dark, as this is when a frightened cat will tend to move and may just need some familiar encouragement to bolt for home if it perceives any threat to be diminished and that you are around to protect it.

If your cat hasn't returned by morning then it's time to gear up and widen the search.
